National Space Program and Lunar Target
Türkiye continues to focus on ambitious space projects aimed at enhancing its technical capacity and independence in space technologies. In this context, the country aims to achieve its first contact with the Moon by sending its first spacecraft to the lunar surface or orbit. This critical mission aims to elevate Türkiye's domestic capabilities in space research.
Establishing the Space Weather Application Center (UHUM)
As part of these strategic goals, preliminary work to establish the Space Weather Application Center (UHUM) will begin next year. The center will monitor space weather dynamics, solar storms, and radiation changes, playing a crucial role in safeguarding space technologies and satellite infrastructure.
Future Plans and Scientific Achievements
With the operationalization of UHUM and the development of lunar spacecraft, Türkiye aims to become self-reliant in generating its own scientific space data. Strategic steps taken next year are expected to bring the country closer to launching its first spacecraft to the Moon.
