Joint Space Project of Turkic States
An important project elevating the technology and science cooperation among Turkic states into space is being realized. The joint CubeSat project aims to bring together the expertise of member states in space research. This international partnership aims to contribute to the global space ecosystem while strengthening regional ties.
The CubeSat designed and manufactured within the scope of the project is being developed in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan. The meticulous work carried out by the technical team at facilities in Astana highlights the indigenous and shared capacity of Turkic states in satellite technologies.
Launch from Baikonur Cosmodrome
Following the completion of development and testing processes in Astana, the schedule for placing the CubeSat into orbit has been established. According to plans, the joint satellite will be launched from the historic Baikonur Cosmodrome located in Kazakhstan.
As one of the world's most established spaceports, Baikonur Cosmodrome will host this strategic mission, ensuring the satellite takes its position in Earth orbit. Scheduled for the second half of next year, this launch mission marks a technically significant milestone for the Turkic world's space presence.
Regional Milestone in Space Research
Beyond being a technical achievement, the joint CubeSat project serves as a bridge for comprehensive future space missions among participating nations. Developed through knowledge sharing and joint engineering expertise, the satellite sets a precedent for potential satellite constellations and scientific space research.
The increasingly popular small satellite and CubeSat concepts in space architecture facilitate cost-effective and efficient space missions. This joint step by Turkic states represents a vital stride toward independence and sustainable cooperation in space technology.
