Astronauts Captured During Spacewalk

Canadian Space Agency (CSA) astronaut Joshua Kutryk and NASA astronaut Anil Menon were photographed during a spacewalk on October 29, 2026. At the time of the image, the International Space Station was orbiting 267 miles above the South Atlantic Ocean.

Solar Array Installation and Operational Tasks

During the spacewalk, Kutryk and Menon successfully installed a new roll-out solar array on the space station. In addition to the primary array assembly, the astronauts performed extra get-ahead work to assist future station maintenance.

Enhancing Orbital Power Capabilities

The addition of new solar arrays is designed to augment the power capabilities of the orbiting laboratory. Executed jointly by astronauts from two space agencies, this spacewalk reinforces the ongoing operational efficiency of the International Space Station.
