Computer Security: 2FA to the TechNet

Image: CERN

CERN has fully implemented two-factor authentication (2FA) across its key remote access gateways. The integration of eduVPN completes the protection of CERN's IT services and campus network.

Security Transformation in IT Networks

CERN has expanded its two-factor authentication (2FA) deployment to safeguard its corporate network infrastructure and information systems against cyber threats. The security integration for central authentication gateways is now complete.

Supported Services and Gateway Access

The 2FA system has been fully deployed across CERN Single Sign-On, the Linux interactive service (LXPLUS), and the Windows Terminal Server (WTS) gateways known as CERNTS. The addition of the new eduVPN service completes the rollout.

Complete Coverage for the Campus Network

With these updates, all major remote entry points to CERN's IT services and the CERN Campus network are now secured. This establishes a robust protection layer across the research center's digital infrastructure.
