Cosmic Origins Second Early Career Workshop, Oct 2026

Empowering Early Career Astrophysicists

NASA's Cosmic Origins Program is hosting its Second Early Career Workshop to support and empower the next generation of astrophysics leaders and principal investigators. Scheduled virtually from October 20 to 22, 2026, the event is tailored to assist emerging scientists as they navigate research programs and transition into major leadership roles.

Program Tools and Interactive Mission Sessions

The workshop, running daily between 1:00 pm and 4:30 pm ET, will provide insights into the diverse scientific initiatives guided by the Cosmic Origins Program. Participants will receive demonstrations of operational tools, learn about upcoming mission studies, interact with community leadership, and have opportunities to resolve technical and procedural queries directly with NASA specialists.

Building Capacity for Future Astronomical Explorations

By preparing young researchers to engage with mission studies and science groups, the Cosmic Origins community aims to ensure the long-term stewardship of astrophysics missions. This initiative helps bridge the gap between academic training and mission leadership, fostering a diverse pool of future principal investigators capable of addressing foundational cosmic questions.
