United Launch Alliance has targeted mid-November for the next flight of its Vulcan heavy-lift rocket, following a solid rocket booster nozzle anomaly. The launch will deploy 40 Amazon LEO satellites into orbit.

Vulcan Prepares to Return to Flight

United Launch Alliance (ULA) has announced a targeted mid-November launch date for its Vulcan rocket. As the company works to expand its launch manifest, the heavy-lift vehicle is set to return to the pad following an extensive review of performance data from its previous mission.

Addressing Booster Nozzle Performance

This upcoming mission marks Vulcan's first flight since experiencing an in-flight nozzle failure on one of its solid rocket boosters during an earlier launch. Although the rocket successfully completed its objectives on that flight, engineering teams conducted comprehensive assessments to ensure flight safety and reliability ahead of this next deployment.

Deploying Amazon's LEO Constellation

For this mission, Vulcan will carry 40 Amazon low Earth orbit (LEO) satellites to space, supporting the deployment of the tech giant's global broadband constellation. The launch serves as a vital operational milestone for ULA as it looks to demonstrate the heavy-lift rocket's commercial readiness and dependable flight cadence.
